Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • some salt and pepper
  • possibly Tabasco

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Squeeze the lemons and chop the garlic as finely as possible or mince it with a press. Mix all ingredients and let it marinate thoroughly. Carefully add Tabasco to your taste. Tastes great on spare ribs or with grilled food. Also suitable for caramelizing spare ribs: Grill the seasoned spare ribs in aluminum foil for about 2 hours at a low temperature. Then brush the spare ribs with the BBQ sauce and grill briefly at a high temperature until caramelized, for a maximum of 5 minutes per side.
