Bircher muesli

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 tbsp oat flakes
  • 2 tbsp sultanas and raisins
  • 100 ml milk
  • 700 g yogurt (plain or fruit)
  • ½ lemon(s), the juice
  • 2 tbsp sugar, if desired
  • 4 large apples
  • 1 banana(s)
  • 300 g berries or other fruits
  • 100 ml cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

In a large bowl, combine the oats, sultanas/raisins, and milk and let stand for at least half an hour to soften. Add the yogurt, lemon juice, and sugar to the oat mixture. Quarter the apples, remove the cores, and grate them directly into the muesli using a Bircher grater. Discard any remaining peel. Peel the banana and slice. Trim and chop any berries or fruit, if necessary. Add all the fruit to the muesli and mix thoroughly. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form and fold in. Tip: You can also use regular cornflakes or other store-bought muesli instead of the oats.
