Prepare black tea – that’s how it’s done
- Use one teaspoon of black tea per cup or about five teaspoons per liter – depending on how intense you want the taste.
- Pour 90 to 100 degrees hot water over the tea. The temperature depends on the variety used and is written on the package.
- The steeping time also depends on the variety used. However, it is usually no longer than three minutes.
- Under no circumstances should you let your black tea steep for more than 5 minutes, otherwise it will become too bitter.
- Unlike fruit tea, black tea contains tannins and caffeine. The longer the brewing time, the more of these tannins are released from the tea and make the drink bitter.
- The effect of the tea also depends on the brewing time. With a short brewing time, the drink has a stimulating effect. If the black tea steeps longer, it has a calming effect on the stomach and intestines and can make you a little tired.
