Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 70 g bacon, diced
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 stalk(s) Celery
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 300 g minced meat (beef)
  • 300 ml meat broth, alternatively red wine
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp flour
  • salt and pepper
  • butter
  • nutmeg and ketchup

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Peel and finely dice the onion, carrot, and celery. Fry the bacon cubes in a pan with butter, add the onion and vegetable cubes, and brown. Tear the ground beef into pieces with a fork and brown it. Dust with flour, add tomato paste, brown briefly, and deglaze with stock. Add the bay leaf, salt, and pepper, and simmer with the lid on for 30 minutes. At the end of the simmering time, remove the bay leaf and season with ketchup, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Tip: If you don’t want to use ketchup, you can simply use a pinch of sugar.
