Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 rolls (raisin or milk)
  • 250 ml milk or cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 50 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g raisins
  • 3 large apples, sweet
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 5 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 100 g almonds, chopped
  • 3 tbsp rum
  • 1 tsp gingerbread spice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Slice the rolls. Peel the apples and slice them equally. Whisk the eggs with milk, powdered sugar, and salt, the raisins and cinnamon, the vanilla sugar and cardamom, the almonds, and rum in a measuring jug. Grease a baking dish with butter and arrange the raisin rolls in a fan shape, then add a layer of apple slices. Season the mixture with gingerbread spice and sprinkle over the mixture. Bake in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 40-50 minutes (until the liquid has run dry).
