Braised Cabbage with Ham
The perfect braised cabbage with ham recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 0,5 piece Chinese cabbage
- 2 piece Onions
- 1 piece Clove of garlic
- 6 disc Salmon ham
- 100 g Goose fat
- 50 g Tomato paste
- 150 Milliliters Beef stock
- 0,25 tsp Caraway seed
- 0,25 tsp Ground allspice
- 2 piece Bay leaves
- 1 tsp Frozen tomato powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- Cut the onion and ham into cubes, rub the garlic with salt and sauté in the goose lard while adding the caraway seeds.
- When the onions take on a light color, add the grated cabbage and the remaining spices to braise.
- At the end of the braising process, briefly roast the tomato paste, stir into the cabbage, ham and onion mixture, fill up with the beef stock and simmer a little.
- Now season with salt and pepper and thicken a little with the frozen tomato. (Also works with potato starch)
