Braised cabbage with minced meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 head of white cabbage
  • 750 g minced meat
  • 1 onion(s)
  • butter
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and dice the onion, then sauté in hot butter. Meanwhile, finely chop and wash the cabbage. Season the minced meat lightly with salt and pepper. When the onions are lightly browned, add a layer of cabbage. Place a layer of minced meat on top of the cabbage and press it down. Then add more cabbage, then minced meat, then cabbage as the top layer, making sure to press the minced meat down. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and pour a small cup of water over it. Cook over medium heat for half an hour. Stir after 30 minutes to combine the minced meat and cabbage. Make sure there isn’t too much water in the pot, otherwise it will lose its flavor. Cook for another 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes.
