Bread à la Mazarini

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 sausages, coarse, raw
  • 2 tsp bacon, diced
  • 1 tsp tomato ketchup
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • 1 cup of cream
  • some butter
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 dashes of cognac
  • 500 g white bread (tray or long loaf)
  • 2 eggs
  • some cheese, grated
  • some parsley
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Press the sausage meat out of both sausages. Finely dice the onion and sauté in a little butter until translucent. Add the bacon cubes and fry briefly, then add the sausage filling and fry until crumbly. Add ketchup, lemon juice, and cream. Season with salt and pepper and a dash of cognac. Cut the top off the bread and hollow it out a little. Fill with the mixture. Beat the eggs and pour over the bread. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 180°C for about 10-15 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
