Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 15 slice(s) toast bread, buttered, white, without crust
- 120 g raisins
- 1 lemon(s), untreated, zest
- 2 tbsp sugar, white
- 3 eggs
- ½ liter of milk
- 1 tbsp brown sugar

Bread and butter
Place a layer of toast, buttered side up, in a 2-liter buttered casserole dish. Sprinkle with raisins, then repeat until the dish is almost full. Press the lemon rind, cut in half, into the right and left edges. Whisk together the milk, eggs, and white sugar, pour onto the bread mixture, sprinkle with brown sugar, and then bake in the oven at 210 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
