Bread casserole with apples

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g quark
  • ½ liter buttermilk
  • 3 rolls
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 tbsp, levelled sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp sultanas
  • 3 apples (e.g. Braeburn)
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Whisk the quark with the eggs and 3 tablespoons of sugar until smooth. Whisk the buttermilk with 2 tablespoons of sugar and the vanilla sugar. Peel and core the apples and cut into wedges. Thinly slice the rolls. Grease a baking dish with butter. Layer the rolls, quark, apples, and raisins in the dish. Finally, pour over the buttermilk and dot with butter flakes. Place the dish in a cold oven, set the temperature to 200°C, and bake the casserole for about 45 minutes.
