Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 150 g stale bread
  • 50 g rolls or white bread, stale
  • 2 m.-sized eggs
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • Parsley, chives or similar
  • ¼ liter of lukewarm milk
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly garlic powder
  • 125 g ham cubes, mildly smoked

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Dice 150g of stale bread and 50g of stale roll/white bread into small cubes and place in a bowl. Pour the lukewarm milk over the bread and mix gently. Add onions and herbs (parsley, etc.) to taste. Season with salt and pepper (or garlic powder if you like). Then add the two eggs and the diced ham. Mix with breadcrumbs until a dough forms. The finished dough should form about 6-7 medium-sized meatballs. Fry them on all sides in a pan heated with oil.
