Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 350 g bread(s) from the previous day
  • 120 g Gruyère, cut into 4 slices
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 2 tbsp butter, soft
  • Spice(s) of your choice

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Leftovers for bread, makes 4 pieces

Cut a pocket into each slice of bread. Wrap a piece of cheese in a slice of ham, place it in the pocket, and secure with toothpicks. Spread both sides of the bread with butter, season if desired, and fry for about 7 minutes on each side. The pockets are best made like this: Cut a 1 cm wide slice from the loaf of bread, but do not cut all the way through. Then cut a second slice of the same width all the way through to create a pocket. If you like, you can also use herb butter or garlic butter to spread the bread.
