inexpensive, delicious winter food – cooked faster than a packet soup

Fry the mixed bread in hot oil until light brown, add the finely chopped vegetables and sauté gently, stirring constantly. Pour in the water or broth and simmer for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, fry the onion with the two diced slices of bread until crispy and set aside for garnishing. Once cooked, add the finely chopped ham, cream, and seasonings, and blend with a hand blender. Serve with the toasted bread cubes and onions.
