savory for tea, Brie is a cheese that harmonizes beautifully with fruit
Preheat the oven to 190°C fan/convection oven. Line a baking tray with baking paper and let the nuts and white bread brown and crisp for 2-3 minutes. Meanwhile, peel, halve, and core the pears, then slice them very thinly and arrange them on a plate. Mix the lemon juice and nutmeg together and drizzle over the pears. Remove the rind from the Brie if desired, slice the cheese, and spread evenly on the bread slices. Roughly chop the toasted nuts and press them firmly into the soft cheese. Arrange the pear slices on top. You can also use blue or green grapes. Tip: for a spicy touch, sprinkle the pear slices with freshly ground black pepper. For a sweeter finish, drizzle runny honey over the pears.
