Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 300 g bulgur
  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 cube of stock
  • Oil, for frying
  • pepper
  • chili powder
  • curry powder
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 packs of cream cheese
  • e.g. sesame
  • e.g. butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cold or warm, as a side dish or spread. Also delicious as a sesame-breaded meatball!

Bring the bulgur to a boil in a saucepan with about 500 ml of water and the stock cube. Simmer until the liquid is absorbed. Then let it swell for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, finely chop the onions and garlic and sauté in a pan with a little oil. After about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, season the bulgur to taste with pepper, chili, and curry. Then mix in the onions and garlic and fold in the cream cheese. Delicious warm or cold as a side dish, spread on bread, or salad, it goes well with anything. You can form the mixture into meatballs, then coat them in sesame seeds and fry them in a hot pan with melted butter for 3-4 minutes on each side until crispy. Delicious with salad or vegetables.
