Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 100 ml water, lukewarm
  • 50 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 g flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 40 g butter, melted
  • some sesame
  • Flour for the work surface
  • Fat for the baking tray or burger tin

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 25 minutes

Mix 30 ml of milk, water, sugar, and dried yeast well and let it rise for at least 5 minutes. As the yeast reacts, a light foam will form. Meanwhile, melt the butter. Then whisk in the salt, melted butter, and one egg. Then add the flour and knead the dough well (about 5 minutes). Depending on the size of the egg, a little extra flour may be needed. The dough should no longer stick to your fingers. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes. Tip: If it’s too cold in your home, simply heat the oven briefly to 50 degrees Celsius and then turn it off. Place the bowl inside and close the door. The heat will then be sufficient. Then cut the dough into 4 pieces. If you’re unsure, you can weigh them again to make sure they’re all the same size. Form balls on a floured surface and place them on a greased baking sheet or in a burger bun tin. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Whisk together the remaining milk, egg, and a little water. After the rising time, spread the mixture on the rolls and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
