Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 300 g spelt flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp dry yeast
- 20 g sugar
- 150 ml milk
- 45 g butter
- 1 egg(s)
- some flour for the work surface
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 40 minutes
With spelt flour
First, heat the milk and melt the butter. In the meantime, combine the flour with the salt, sugar, and dry yeast, and whisk the egg in a bowl. Add the warm butter mixture and the beaten egg to the dry ingredients, mix well, and knead into a soft dough on a floured surface. Divide the dough into four portions and shape into balls. Place these on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and flatten. Cover and let rise for 2 hours. If you like, you can whisk another egg with a tablespoon of milk before baking, brush the buns with it, and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. Or, instead of the sesame seeds, you can dust the buns with a little more flour before baking, without first brushing them with the egg-milk mixture. This gives the buns a more rustic appearance after baking. Bake the buns in a preheated oven at 170°C (convection oven) for about 15 minutes.
