Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 ½ cup(s) sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 packets of baking powder
  • 1 ½ cup(s) sugar
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 2 bags of almonds
  • 125 g butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Combine all ingredients (except for the topping) with a mixer and bake on a baking sheet lined with baking paper at 200 degrees (conventional oven) or 180 degrees (convection oven) for about 15-20 minutes in a preheated oven. Make sure you pull the edges of the baking paper up nicely on the sides, otherwise you’ll have a huge mess in the oven later. For the topping: Heat the butter, sugar, and milk in a saucepan while stirring. Remove the cake from the oven, distribute the two bags of almonds over the cake and spread the glaze over the cake, then bake for another 5, or at most 10 minutes. The cake will be very moist if you add a finely chopped apple to the batter or pour liquid cream over the still-warm cake.
