Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,000 g flour (type 405)
  • 500 ml buttermilk, room temperature
  • 250 g butter, liquid
  • 125 g sugar
  • 2 packets of yeast (dry yeast)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Sugar or almond flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Knead all ingredients, from flour to yeast, to room temperature and let it rise. After 30 minutes, knead again, divide into three pieces, and braid into a plait. Press the ends together firmly. Let it rise for about 20 minutes. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with granulated sugar, almond slivers, or both. Bake at 175°C on the middle rack for about 45 minutes.
