Ingredients

  • 300 g Wheat flour
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 300 ml Buttermilk
  • 50 g Cold butter
  • 2 tbsp Milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 220 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix the flour, baking powder and salt well, then add the buttermilk and butter in small pieces and knead everything well to form a dough. Shape this dough into 9 balls, place them on the baking sheet and flatten them a little. Then brush the scones with the milk and bake on the middle rack for 15 minutes.

annotation

  • Scones are an English pastry traditionally eaten at tea time, followed by clotted cream and jam. We also like the scones for breakfast, but then without clotted cream, actually only with a little salt butter. But you can also eat any other jam or a dulce de leche with it.
