Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 250 g white beans
- 500 g sauerkraut
- 500 g bacon, streaky
- 2 onions
- 3 tbsp lard
- 3 juniper berries
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 20 minutes
Sauerkraut with white beans
Soak the beans and let stand overnight. Boil until tender the next day. Cook sauerkraut with bacon and juniper berries until tender. Brown the onions in lard, slice the bacon. Mix the sauerkraut and beans, then arrange the bacon and onions on top of the cabbage. Serve with mashed potatoes.
