Caipirinha

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 m.-large lime(s)
  • 2 tsp, heaped cane sugar (more if needed)
  • 3 cl cachaça (alternatively brown rum)
  • e.g. ice, crushed

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Tested on vacation

Cut the lime into eighths and place them in a wide long drink glass (caipi glass). Add the cane sugar and press it down with a muddler to allow some of the lime juice to dissolve and combine with the sugar (this also prevents the crunch between your teeth when drinking). Let it steep for a few minutes, but it’s not necessary. Then fill the glass with crushed ice and add the cachaça. Stir again. To serve, arrange with a (short) straw and a plastic muddler, and enjoy.
