Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 175 g almond(s), whole
- 250 g flour
- 180 g sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- ½ bottle of bitter almond flavor
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 eggs
- Salt
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Pour hot water over the almonds and peel them (preferably the day before). Mix all ingredients together to make a dough. Add the almonds last. Form the dough into a ball and chill for 60 minutes. Divide the dough into six equal pieces and shape them into approximately 25cm long rolls. Bake the rolls in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 10-15 minutes. Cut the pre-baked rolls into approximately 1cm thick slices. Place these slices (on the cut side) in the oven again at 200°C (400°F) for another 8-10 minutes. The cantuccini are ready! A lovely Christmas gift.
