Carrot vegetables with bacon

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg carrot(s)
  • 100 g of belly bacon
  • 2 onions, red or white, to taste
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ jar vegetable broth

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Heat a pan. Finely dice the bacon and add it to the hot pan. Peel and dice the onions (size according to taste). Once the bacon is cooked, add the diced onions and let them become translucent. Peel and slice the carrots, tossing the bacon occasionally. Sprinkle the sugar over them and stir until lightly caramelized. Add the carrots and mix well. Deglaze with the stock and simmer over low heat. If you like more stock, put the lid on the pan; if you don’t, leave it off; if you don’t, add a little more stock. Simmer until the carrots are as soft as you like them. Goes well with all kinds of meat dishes.
