Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 125 ml milk
  • some butter or margarine
  • some salt
  • 50 g cheese, grated
  • 60 g wheat flour
  • 1 egg(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Bring the milk, fat, spices, and cheese to a boil. Then remove the pan from the heat, add the sifted flour all at once, stir everything into a smooth dumpling, and heat for about 1 minute while stirring. Immediately transfer the hot dumpling to a bowl and beat in the egg. Scoop out dumplings with a wet spoon, place them in boiling salted water or boiling soup, and let them simmer for 5 minutes. These dumplings are especially delicious as a garnish for tomato soup.
