Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
for parties, festivals and celebrations
Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Layer the cheese slices approximately 1 cm thick on top of each other and warm gently in a preheated oven at 50°C. Then press down lightly. Peel the onion and finely chop it with the gherkins and herbs. Mix room-temperature butter and cream cheese with the diced onion and cucumber, herbs, and spices until creamy. Cover the cheese with the cooked ham and spread with the cream. Then roll the whole thing up. Leave the baking paper around the cheese roll and twist it tightly at the sides (this will look like a sausage). Chill the roll thoroughly in the refrigerator for a few hours to set. Then cut into approximately 1 cm thick slices and decorate on a platter. This goes very well with baguette, toast, bread crumbs, and salad. Tip: This can also be easily prepared the day before.
