Cheese sauce for pasta

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 50 g butter
  • 30 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 250 ml cream
  • 1 tsp, heaped vegetable broth, instant
  • pepper
  • 200 g cheese, grated
  • 150 g cooked ham optional
  • Parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Melt the butter, stir in the flour, and fry the roux until light yellow. Add the milk and cream one at a time while stirring, and bring the béchamel to a boil. Season with vegetable stock and pepper. Melt the cheese in the sauce. If desired, dice the ham and heat it in the sauce, but do not let it boil. The sauce is also delicious without the ham. Sprinkle with parsley, if desired. Serve the sauce with pasta.
