Cheese Sticks without Flour
The perfect cheese sticks without flour recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 200 g Peeled and ground almonds
- 160 g Grated Gouda
- 3 Eggs
- 0,75 Pck. Baking powder
- 35 g Flea seeds
- 1 tbsp Chia seeds
- 160 ml Hot water
- 80 g Lean bacon cubes
- Separate eggs. Save egg yolks. Finely grate the cheese. Put the almond flour, baking powder, egg white, flea and chia seeds in a bowl and mix with the very hot water. The result is a fairly runny dough. Then add the grated cheese and fold in thoroughly. Then the dough gets a firmer consistency that can be gently shaped with your hands. After the cheese, add the bacon cubes and mix everything thoroughly. Let the dough rest until the oven has reached its temperature.
- Preheat the oven to 180 ° circulating air. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Hold hands under cold water to shape. Cut off heaped portions with a tablespoon and shape them into rolls with your wet hands (it is a bit “wobbly”, but works). Place with a gap on the baking sheet and brush generously with the saved egg yolk.
- Bake on the middle rack for 40 – 50 minutes until golden brown. They taste warm and cold. With and without toppings ….. are great for “on the go” or as a snack in between.
Annotation:
- If you also want sticks with a “neutral taste”, don’t add the bacon to the dough right away, but first form 6 sticks without them. But then only about 40 g of bacon are added to the rest of the batter.
