Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 8 slices of toast
  • 4 slices of salami
  • 4 slice(s) of cheese (sandwich cheese or slices)
  • 2 eggs
  • Tomato paste
  • Mustard
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • Butter or clarified butter for frying
  • Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Hearty baked toast

Spread one half of the toast slices with tomato paste and the other with mustard. Place the salami and cheese on the slices with tomato paste and cover with the mustard toast. Then beat the eggs with salt, pepper, and paprika. Coat the sandwiches in the tomato paste and fry briefly on both sides in a buttered pan. Then place them in the oven at 180°C until the toast is nicely browned. Serve with Worcestershire sauce, if desired. Two per person is a main course, one is a small snack. For vegetarians, use briefly fried and seasoned eggplant slices instead of the salami.
