Cherries baked with quark

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g cherries or other fruit
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 200 g quark
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 egg whites

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Place the pitted cherries in an ovenproof casserole dish or bowl and sprinkle with sugar. Combine the quark, cornstarch, vanilla sugar, and egg yolks. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the quark mixture. Pour everything over the fruit and bake at 180°C for 20 minutes. Serve hot. Blueberries, thin apple slices, and peach halves also taste delicious instead of cherries.
