Cherry liqueur

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg cherries (also frozen)
  • 500 g rock sugar, white
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 4 carnations
  • 3 bottles of vodka, 0.75 liters each

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Wash and pit fresh cherries; frozen cherries can be added as is. I use two 2-liter jars, each containing half the ingredients. It’s important to add the rock candy first. Then add the remaining ingredients, with the vodka last. Let it sit in a sunny spot for six weeks, shaking frequently. Then filter everything and store in a dark place until ready to serve. Note: I’ve been told that the liqueur only develops its full flavor after two to three years, but it doesn’t last that long for us.
