Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 750 g sour cherries
  • 250 g white rock sugar (depending on desired sweetness)
  • 2 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 2 carnations
  • ½ orange(s), untreated, grated peel
  • 700 ml schnapps (double grain)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

with grain added

Wash and drain the sour cherries. Pit approximately 4-5 cherries and crush the stones (preferably in a freezer bag). Layer the stones with the cherries, rock candy, cinnamon, orange peel, and cloves in one large or two small jars (with the rock candy facing up). Pour the Doppelkorn schnapps over the cherries, seal tightly, and let it steep in a cool, dark place for about 5-7 weeks. Shake occasionally. Filter the liqueur and bottle.
