  • 12 slices of white bread
  • 100 g almond(s), chopped
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 jar cherry(s) (or fresh cherries)
  • 75 g butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

The white bread slices should be fairly dry. Tear the white bread into small pieces in a bowl and soak them in the milk. Separate the eggs and mix the yolks with honey, butter (or margarine), and cinnamon. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. First, mix the egg yolk mixture and the beaten egg whites into the soaked white bread. Drain, pit, and wash the cherries and fold them into the batter. Grease a springform pan and pour the batter into it, sprinkling with butter. Bake at 200°C for about 30 minutes, then serve with vanilla sauce and, if desired, sugar and cinnamon.
