Cherry Sprinkles

The perfect cherry sprinkles recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the dough:

  • 500 g Flour
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 200 g Cold butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 El. Vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 packet Baking powder

For the filling:

  • 1 glass Sour cherries
  • 1 packet Pudding powder
  • 4 El. Sugar

Dough:

  1. Knead all ingredients into a crumbly dough. Line a springform pan with baking paper and fill in 1/3 of the batter, press it flat and draw a slight edge.

Cherries:

  1. Put the cherries in a saucepan with their juice. Add sugar and stir in the pudding powder. Bring to the boil while stirring, simmer for another 2 minutes and then remove from the stove and let cool down a little.
  2. Place the cherries on the cake base and crumble sprinkles on top of the cherries with the rest of the batter.
  3. Bake at 180 degrees, fan-assisted, approx. 40 minutes.
