Chicken breast in buttermilk marinade

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g chicken breast or chicken schnitzel
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 5 cm ginger
  • 1 red bell pepper(s)
  • 2 chili peppers
  • 250 ml buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp, heaped sugar or honey
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic powder

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 10 minutes

for ginger fans ideal for grilling

Briefly rinse the chicken breast or schnitzel and pat dry, then set aside. Peel the onion and ginger, and wash, stem, and deseed the bell peppers and chilies. Combine all ingredients except the chicken breast in a blender and puree until smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Transfer the chicken breast to a can, pour the marinade over it, and cover with an airtight lid. Let it marinate overnight, ideally. Remove the meat from the can, drain briefly, and place it on the grill.
