Chicken drumsticks from Suriname

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 6 chicken legs
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 red chili pepper(s), deseeded
  • 1 cube of meat broth
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp kebab manis
  • n. B. Pepper, black
  • 1 pinch(s) of allspice powder
  • 1 garlic clove(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 9 hours 5 minutes

Party recipe

First, prepare the marinade. Finely chop the onion, garlic clove, and chili pepper in a food processor. Place the drumsticks in a bowl and spread the onion mixture on top. Crumble the stock cube and sprinkle with pepper and allspice. Rub the drumsticks with the soy sauce and Ketjap Manis, ensuring the onion mixture is evenly distributed. Marinate the drumsticks in the covered bowl in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Roast the drumsticks on a baking tray lined with parchment paper on the middle rack for about 50 minutes, until browned.
