Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 250 ml tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp honey, liquid
- some chili sauce (a few dashes)
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 18 chicken legs (drumsticks) approx. 100 g each
- salt and pepper
- Sweet paprika powder (alternatively chicken seasoning salt)
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 15 minutes
Mix ketchup with honey, chili, and Worcestershire sauce. Rinse the chicken thighs and pat dry. Brush the thighs with the marinade, cover, and chill for 2-3 hours (preferably overnight). Preheat oven to 200°C (gas mark 3). Season the thighs with salt, pepper, and paprika (or seasoned salt). Place on the oven rack and roast in the oven on the middle shelf (place a baking tray or roasting pan underneath) for about 30 minutes, turning occasionally. Then set the oven to grill or high heat and grill for another 10 minutes until golden brown on all sides. Tip: Serve the thighs on lettuce leaves, if desired, and garnish with lime wedges. The marinated thighs can also be prepared on a charcoal grill in 15-20 minutes.
