Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 1 chicken
- 1 onion(s)
- 1 bunch of soup vegetables
- 1 bay leaf
- ½ piece(s) butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp capers, with broth
- salt and pepper
- Lemon juice, to taste
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Wash the chicken and place it in a pot of salted water. The chicken should be covered. Add the onion, the cleaned vegetables, and the bay leaf and bring to a boil. I always let it simmer for about an hour, depending on the size of the chicken. When cooked, strain it, reserving any liquid. Let the chicken cool slightly. Then cut up the chicken and chop the meat. For the sauce, melt the butter, add the flour, and then add enough of the reserved stock to make a creamy sauce. Add the capers and bring to a boil. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon. Finally, add the meat and bring to a boil again. Serve with rice or potatoes.
