Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g chicken, shredded
  • 1 m.-large onion(s), red
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tsp oregano, shredded
  • 3 sprigs of thyme, fresh
  • 1 tsp, crushed paprika powder, rose hot
  • ½ tsp cumin, ground
  • 2 tsp onion(s), ground
  • 3 sprigs of basil, the leaves
  • 1 tbsp rosemary, the needles
  • 1 tsp coriander leaves
  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 12 hours 25 minutes

Marinate the chicken overnight in the spice and oil mixture. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic cloves. Add a little oil to a hot pan and fry the diced garlic and onion. Now add the marinated chicken and marinade and sear until crispy. After about 5 minutes, reduce the heat and continue cooking using the residual heat. Serve with rice, rosemary potatoes, or use the chicken gyro as a pizza topping. Crumble some feta cheese and add olives.
