Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g chicken breast fillet(s)
  • 2 apples
  • 1 large onion(s) (vegetable onion)
  • 3 lettuce leaves
  • mayonnaise
  • sweet cream
  • Salt and pepper, white
  • Baguette(s)
  • possibly tomato(s)
  • lemon juice

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

American chicken salad with apple and onion

Cook the chicken breast fillet and let it cool. Then chop the fillets, apples, and onions into large pieces. First, chop the chicken fillets in a food processor and place them in a bowl. Then chop the apples and onions in the processor as well. Don’t puree them, just dice them finely. Add them to the meat. Stack the lettuce leaves on top of each other and roll them up, then cut very small slices from the roll to create long lettuce strands. Add these to the bowl. Mix everything together with mayonnaise and cream and season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Chicken salad tastes best with baguette or in a baguette as a sandwich. Fresh tomatoes are a must.
