Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg chicken breast or turkey breast
- 3 slice(s) bacon or ham
- ½ cup(s) broccoli or Brussels sprouts
- 1 m.-sized sweet potato(s)
- 1 m.-sized onion(s)
- 2 large apples, red
- 4 cloves garlic
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 sprig(s) of thyme
- ¼ tsp cinnamon powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper, from the mill
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Pan-fried dish from the USA with chicken, sweet potatoes and apples
Dice the meat and bacon or ham. Wash and chop the broccoli. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes. Core and dice the apples. Peel and dice the onion and garlic. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the meat for about 10 minutes until cooked through. Transfer to a plate and keep warm. In the same pan, fry the bacon or ham. After 4 minutes, add the vegetables, sweet potatoes, and onions. After another 5 minutes, add the apples, garlic, thyme, and cinnamon and fry for another 3 minutes. Pour in the stock and simmer for 10 minutes. Then add the meat, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about another 2 minutes.
