Chili Dog Nachos

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, preferably beef or mixed
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 sausages, hot dogs, frankfurters, wieners, cut into thick slices
  • 1 small onion(s), diced
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili powder, less or more to taste
  • 250 ml tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • Cheese, grated, e.g. Cheddar, Grueyer
  • sour cream, as desired
  • Sauce (salsa), as desired
  • Chips (Tortilla Corn Chips)

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Great snack for sports evenings etc.

Brown the ground beef in oil until cooked through. Season with salt and pepper. Add the hot dogs and cook for about 2 minutes. Add the onion and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Then add the Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, cumin, and tomato sauce. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Arrange the tortilla corn chips on a plate, top with the chili dogs, and sprinkle with cheese. Briefly broil in the oven until the cheese melts. Serve with sour cream and salsa. A little tip: Sometimes I like to use regular chili powder and a little chipotle powder. Start with a small amount and add more to taste. You can also add more tomato sauce if desired.
