Chili-filled garlic bread

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g minced beef
  • 1 onion(s), chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 300 ml beef broth
  • 200 g tomatoes, chopped
  • 120 g kidney beans
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 baguette(s)
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 handful of fresh parsley
  • 50 g Cheddar cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Sauté the onions. Add the ground beef, 2 cloves of garlic, and a little pepper and fry. Add the chili powder, cumin, and flour to the pan and deglaze with the beef broth. Add the chopped tomatoes, kidney beans, and oregano. Add the salt, tomato paste, and bay leaf and simmer. Cut the baguette into thirds and hollow out the insides with a long knife. Mix together the melted butter, crushed garlic cloves, and chopped parsley. Fill the baguettes with the ground beef, spoon the garlic butter over the top, and sprinkle with grated Cheddar cheese. Bake at 200°C for 10-12 minutes.
