Chinese onion beef with noodles

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g beef fillet(s)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sherry, dry
  • 1 tbsp wheat flour, sifted
  • 250 g tagliatelle (egg noodles), wide
  • 500 g shallot(s) or onions
  • 4 tbsp oil (sunflower oil)
  • 4 tsp sesame seeds
  • black pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Cut the beef fillet into thin strips. Make a marinade from soy sauce, sherry, and wheat flour and marinate the fillet strips in it for about 1 hour. Longer is fine—the longer the better. I always marinate them overnight. Meanwhile, cook the noodles al dente according to the package instructions, drain them, and let them drain in a sieve. Peel the shallots or onions and thinly slice them. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of sunflower oil in a pan and fry the onions until golden brown. In a second pan, briefly fry the fillet strips in hot oil. Add the sesame seeds and onions, and season with pepper and soy sauce. Briefly fry the drained noodles in the onion pan. Then stir into the meat. Season again to taste. Adjust seasoning if desired, and serve hot.
