Chocolate and Cinnamon Gugelhüpfer
The perfect chocolate and cinnamon gugelhüpfer recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Soft butter
- 180 g Sugar
- 1 tbsp Vanilla sugar, homemade
- 5 Eggs
- 260 g Flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 60 g Chopped dark chocolate
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Salt
- 100 g Powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp Milk
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Separate the eggs and beat the egg white with a pinch of salt until stiff.
- Mix the softened butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar until frothy and gradually stir in the egg yolks. Mix the flour with the baking powder and cinnamon and fold into the dough alternately with the egg whites. Finally fold in the chopped chocolate,
- Now fill the dough into the silicone mold with the help of a teaspoon, chop the mold several times to avoid air bubbles and bake the Gugelhüpfer on the middle rack for 18 minutes, then remove from the mold and allow to cool.
- Mix the powdered sugar with the milk and cover the Gugelhüpfer with the icing.
