my favorite chocolate cake

Line a 20 cm springform pan with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 170°C (top/bottom heat). Place the water, sour cream, margarine/butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, cocoa, and the chocolate (cut into pieces) in a saucepan. Heat over low heat until the margarine/butter and chocolate have melted. Stir occasionally. Remove from the heat and transfer to a mixing bowl. Let cool for about 15-20 minutes. Then beat in the egg on high. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir in a tablespoon at a time. Pour the mixture into the springform pan (the batter will be very runny!) and bake in the preheated oven at 170°C (top/bottom heat) for 40-45 minutes. Do the toothpick test! Remove the cake from the oven and immediately remove it from the pan. Let cool. Dust with powdered sugar or cover with chocolate glaze.
