Chocolate caramel sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 1 cup of cream
  • 1 dashes lemon juice
  • 4 chocolate bars (chocolate caramel bars, e.g. Mars)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

with ice cream, fruit or compote

Heat the cream (but do not boil) and melt the chopped chocolate bars in it. Season to taste with a few squeezes of lemon juice. If you prefer the sauce less sweet, add more cream or lemon juice. It can be enjoyed warm or cold. I prefer the cold version (covered and left to stand overnight); it’s very foamy and not as sweet. It’s a dream with vanilla ice cream with cherries (e.g., thickened with mulled wine).
