festive chocolate cookies

To make the dough, first mix the neutral vegetable oil and eggs. Once these ingredients are well combined, add the sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, and vanilla sugar or vanilla extract. Mix everything until a thick paste forms. Then sift in the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt. Once everything has come together to form a very tough dough, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least four hours. After the resting time, use a teaspoon to shape it into walnut-sized balls and roll them generously in powdered sugar. Place the balls, leaving some space between them, on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for 10-12 minutes. The chocolate crinkles can be served hot with vanilla ice cream straight after baking, as a great dessert. Or you can serve them cold as delicious cookies.
