Chocolate sponge cake

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 50 g dark chocolate
  • 100 g butter
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g flour
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 3 tsp cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Preheat the oven to 175°C (160°C fan-assisted oven). Line a 26 cm baking pan with baking paper. Roughly chop the chocolate. Cream together the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Stir in the eggs. Mix the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder together with the milk, and stir into the buttercream. Fold in the chocolate. Pour the batter into the pan. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Once slightly cooled, remove the cake from the pan and peel off the baking paper. Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack.
