Christmas Cookies: Marzipan Balls

The perfect christmas cookies: marzipan balls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 piece Egg
  • 250 g Marzipan
  • 60 g Powdered sugar
  • 30 g Flour
  • 1 tsp Cream or milk
  • 70 g White couverture
  1. Separate the egg and set aside the yolks. Mix or knead egg white, marzipan, powdered sugar and flour to form a smooth mass. Shape approx. 30 small balls with damp hands and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  2. Mix the egg yolk and cream or milk and lightly brush the balls with it. Bake in the preheated oven at 175 degrees (or fan oven 150 degrees) on the middle rack for about 15 – 20 minutes until golden yellow. Remove and transfer to a wire rack to cool down.
  3. Melt the couverture in a hot water bath and pour it into a freezer bag. Cut off a small point and pull it over the balls in strips.
